Anthony Joseph Helie
This community was shocked Saturday evening to hear of the death of one of its most respected citizens, Anthony J. Helle. Mr. Helle was injured about a week before by a hay pole falling upon him breaking his leg. At the time it was thought that the broken leg was all his injuries but he must have been badly hurt internally also.
Mr. Helle was a son of the late Fred Helle and was born February 5, 1872. January 6, 1895, he was married to Miss Sarah, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Huffman and to them were born six children, fiveof whom with the mother survive. One child died in infancy. Besides the wife and children he leaves an aged mother, seven sisters and three brothers to mourn his loss.
Mr. Helle was well liked and deservedly popular with his neighbors and the voters of Cass township had twice shown their conlidence in his judgernent by electing him assessor. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Buckeye church conducted by Rev. N. M. Douglas and burial was in Buckeye cemetery.

They retained possession with no encumbrances until they retired when they sold the complete parcel to Marvin L. and Eva White who still own and farm it.
